Game Description

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes Link into a vast version of Hyrule where exploration and player choice are at the center of the adventure. After awakening from a 100-year slumber with no memories of his past, Link must discover what happened to the kingdom and recover his lost memories.

Rather than following a strictly linear path, the game allows players to decide how they approach Hyrule. Mountains, forests, ruins, villages, shrines, and dangerous regions can be explored in almost any order, while climbing, gliding, cooking, and environmental interactions provide different ways to navigate the world.

Survival and preparation are important parts of the journey. Link can collect weapons, shields, bows, ingredients, and other resources while experimenting with different equipment and cooking recipes. Weapons have durability, encouraging players to continually search for new gear and adapt their combat style.

Throughout the adventure, players encounter Shrines containing puzzles and combat challenges, as well as powerful enemies and Guardians. Completing Shrines rewards Spirit Orbs that can be exchanged for additional hearts or increased stamina.

The main story ultimately leads Link toward Calamity Ganon, but players are free to spend considerable time exploring Hyrule, completing optional quests, discovering hidden locations, and uncovering the history of the kingdom. The game also supports the Expansion Pass, which adds additional challenges and content.
