Game Description
Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D platform adventure that takes Mario far beyond the familiar Mushroom Kingdom. After Bowser sets out to marry Princess Peach, Mario begins a journey across a collection of distinctive kingdoms in an attempt to stop the wedding.
Mario is joined by Cappy, a living hat who gives him several new ways to move through the world. Cappy can be thrown at enemies and objects, used as a temporary platform, and used to capture certain creatures and objects. Captured targets allow Mario to use their unique abilities, creating different ways to overcome obstacles and reach hidden areas.
The game encourages exploration rather than simply following a fixed path. Players can search each kingdom for Power Moons, which help power the Odyssey airship and unlock access to new destinations. Along the way, there are puzzles, platforming challenges, collectibles, secret areas, costumes, and memorable locations to discover.
The adventure also supports a two-player mode on a single Nintendo Switch system. One player controls Mario while the other takes control of Cappy, making it possible to experience the journey together.
