Game Description

Pokémon Shield takes players to the Galar region, a new setting filled with towns, wild areas, challenging routes, and a new generation of Pokémon. Players begin their journey by choosing one of three partner Pokémon—Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble—before setting out to become the Champion of Galar.

A major addition is the Wild Area, a large open environment where players can freely explore and encounter different Pokémon depending on the location and conditions. The region also introduces Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, allowing certain Pokémon to grow to enormous sizes during battles and use powerful moves.

Throughout the adventure, Trainers challenge Gym Leaders while dealing with Team Yell and uncovering the story surrounding the Legendary Pokémon associated with the Galar region. Pokémon can also be trained through Poké Jobs and looked after at Pokémon Camp.

The game features Max Raid Battles, where players can team up locally or online with other Trainers to take on powerful Dynamax Pokémon. Local wireless and online features also allow players to battle and trade Pokémon.

It Expansion Pass adds two additional areas: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, providing new locations, Pokémon, characters, and story content.
