Pokémon Scarlet takes players to the open-world Paldea region, where they can explore cities, wilderness areas, mountains, lakes, and other locations while catching, training, and battling Pokémon. Players begin their journey with a choice of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly and can travel across Paldea with the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon.
This game adventure offers three main story paths: Victory Road, which focuses on Gym challenges; Path of Legends, which involves powerful Titan Pokémon; and Starfall Street, where the players confront Team Star. That open-world structure allows these stories to be explored in a flexible order.
Pokémon Scarlet also introduces the Terastal phenomenon, allowing Pokémon to change their appearance and gain special battle properties. Local wireless supports 2-4 players, while online features support 1-4 players. This game is also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 through a free update that improves visuals and frame rate.
